REFINED Album Re-Issued As A Special Edition
Kinetik’s classic 1997 debut studio album REFINED is to be re-released on March 9th 2002 as a special edition. After the last remaining copies of the original pressing were recently sold, the band took the opportunity of re- mastering the album while also adding contemporary bonus tracks which were not present on the original release.

The track listing for the REFINED - SPECIAL EDITION is:

(1) KINETIK ENERGY
(2) PIPELINE
(3) DANCE MACHINE
(4) FATHER OF INVENTION
(5) SOUNDS OF INDUSTRY
(6) INDUSTRIAL TECHNOLOGY
(7) ORIMULSION
(8) GENERATION

FATHER OF INVENTION is a previously unreleased studio recording. This piece has in fact only ever been previously heard when performed live by Kinetik during the EMMA 4 Festival at Derby in 1997.

ORIMULSION is another unreleased studio recording (different to the live version released on the BURNING ISSUE CD). This version was originally recorded as a demo for the Orimulsion Action Coalition before the Burning Issue Concert in 1995.

GENERATION is a totally different mix to that found on the original REFINED pressing. Previously, this early ‘test mix’ has only been heard when played on the airwaves during Kinetik’s BBC Radio Derby interview in 1998.

DANCE MACHINE, SOUNDS OF INDUSTRY and HAVEN’S LAMENT have all been re-mastered.

INDUSTRIAL TECHNOLOGY has been slightly reduced in volume in order to match the levels of the other tracks on the CD.

PIPELINE (LIVE) is a special bonus track. This rare live recording has been taken from the long deleted, limited edition 1995 BURNING ISSUE album.

All other tracks are exactly the same as found on the original REFINED release.

For this release, the REFINED CD artwork has been completely re-created by long time Kinetik friend David England in much improved quality, while still keeping faithful to the spirit of the original 1997 artwork.

Most Kinetik fans already in possesion of the original REFINED and BURNING ISSUE CDs will probably not find it worthwhile to purchase this CD for a mere four minutes of previously unreleased music. However, those completists amongst you who want to purchase the REFINED SPECIAL EDITION may do so for £12 + £1 P&P (UK) or £1.50 P&P (Rest of the world) from the usual Kinetik Kommunications address. Please see the Discography section for full details.

The REFINED SPECIAL EDITION will also be on sale at the Kinetik merchandise stall at the forthcoming Elektrofest festival.

I.S.D.N. EP Also Re-Issued With Bonus Material
Also released on March 9th 2002 is a re-pressing of Kinetik’s popular I.S.D.N. EP. Originally released to coincide with Kinetik’s live performance at Bath in 2000 and limited to a mere 31 copies, heavy demand for this deleted CD has led to repeat pressing, complete with a bonus mix not present on the original release.

Full track listing is:

(1) I.S.D.N.
(2) I.S.D.N. (TRANCE - FERENCE MIX)
(3) I.S.D.N. (NO SLEEP ‘TIL “WINDOWS” MIX)
(4) I.S.D.N. (OCTEIGHT MIX)

8:07
5:50
5:37

Track (4) has been remixed by the producer ‘OctEight’ and is new to this re-pressing. This mix has actually been taken (with permission) from the ‘unofficial’ Kinetik remixes CD which was detailed in the last Kinetik news update !

The I.S.D.N. EP is also available from the usual Kinetik Kommunications address, priced at £5 + £1 P&P (UK) or £1.50 P&P (rest of the world). Please see the Discography section for ordering details.

The I.S.D.N. re-issue will also be on sale at the Kinetik merchandise stall at the forthcoming Elektrofest festival while stocks last !

Kinetik’s Latest Release - ‘MARCONI’ Still Available

Kinetik’s most recent CD release to date, the MARCONI CD single is still available. Released on 12th December 2001 to mark the 100th anniversary of the first successful trans-Atlantic radio transmission by Marconi, this CD has generated a lot of Kinetik interest, both at home and overseas.

Kinetik have recently granted permission for music material from the CD to be used as a soundtrack for a video production. The video is to be a documentary detailing Cornwall’s historic connections with Marconi, his pioneering radio experiments and Cornwall’s later links with the telecommunications industry. Also included on the video will be coverage of last year’s Marconi Centenary celebrations at Poldhu (Poldhu Cove is depicted on the MARCONI CD cover) where Kinetik were also invited to attend and were featured on local radio broadcasts.

Copies of the MARCONI CD are still available for the price of £4 each + the usual postage rates (£1 UK or £1.50 Rest of the world). As usual, orders should be sent to the Kinetik Kommunications address. Please see the Discography section for full details.

Please note that although copies of this CD will be available at Elektrofest, the price there will be rising to £5 per copy. This does not affect MARCONI CDs ordered via mail-order.
