MODEM TIMES - Latest Details Announced
![]() The preliminary track listing for the album is as follows : MODEM TIMES These track details could be subject to change before the album's release. Because of the continual delays faced in completing the album, Kinetik have decided to reward those of you patiently waiting by issuing an (as yet untitled) free bonus CD along with the first 50 copies of MODEM TIMES ordered directly from us. The contents of the bonus CD will include the following tracks : TRANS-CONTINENTAL The bonus CD will probably also contain additional tracks to these, but these have yet to be confirmed. TRANS-CONTINENTAL will be a full studio version of this popular song, previously only available as a live version on the RE-GENERATIONS release. The live tracks have been taken from Kinetik's recent performance at the 2003 Elektrofest Festival in London. The sound quality of the live recording is excellent. Please note that the bonus CD will not be available to customers purchasing MODEM TIMES from distributors other than ourselves and will be strictly limited edition of only 50 copies. It is now expected that
MODEM TIMES will finally be released towards the end of the Summer / early
Autumn, possibly to coincide with another live performance currently in
negotiation. The album is expected to retail for £12.00 plus the usual
P&P rates if ordered via mail-order. Kinetik Mixdown Digitally![]() To help in the production of the forthcoming MODEM TIMES album, Kinetik have recently invested in a new state-of-the-art digital mixing console. The new Behringer DDX3216 (pictured above) has made such a dramatic difference to the production of Kinetik's musical material, that it has been decided to redo the mixdowns of several pieces which had previously already been mastered for the album. This will of course delay the release of the album a little more than was originally planned, but the end results should be well worth it ! Italian Fan Gives His Bike The Kinetik Treatment !![]() Italian fan Emilio Giaretta recently sent us pictures of his 'Kinetik' bicycle to share with visitors to this site. Emilio, who describes himself as one of Kinetik's 'special' fans rode his bike over 450km in three days recently, doubtless spreading the name of Kinetik far and wide over the Italian countryside ! To our amazement, Emilio and his son Alberto actually traveled from Italy last year to attend Kinetik's 2002 Elektrofest performance. Some of his impressive photographs taken at the event can be viewed here. Both Emilio and Alberto are eagerly awaiting the release of MODEM TIMES - so much so that they have actually pre-paid in advance for their copy several months ago ! KINETIK GO DIGITAL, GO - A Message By Xan AlexanderGreetings Kinetik friends. For those of you wondering whatever has become of Modem Times, I am here to put your minds at rest. I can reveal the main reason behind the delay. The band have been waiting some time for the arrival of a new Behringer digital mixer to master the album. Colin wanted to wait for the mixer, to make sure all the tracks are of the best sound quality. I recently spent the weekend of the 5th and 6th of July with Colin and Shirleyann at Kinetik HQ in Cornwall. During that time, Colin mastered four tracks using the new digital desk and I was privileged to hear the tracks come together. I am very pleased to report that they sound fantastic. The sound is so clear and sharp and if you you listen very carefully you can hear all the individual sounds. Colin himself is very pleased with the results and is now in the process of mastering all the other tracks using the new digital desk. Two of the four four tracks mastered that weekend are taken from this year's Elektrofest and are destined for a special bonus CD. You would think you were listening to a studio track, but they are definitely live - the quality is amazing. So don't worry - the album is on its way and will certainly be worth the wait. |
