Kinetik Play Live At Bath Electronica 2000

Kinetik played their first live date for nearly two years on 26th February, headlining the Bath Electronica Evening held at the Windows Art Centre. The band played their longest set ever, lasting over 1 ¾ hours. Accompanying the band on stage were the familiar synchronised computer graphic images projected onto a giant projection screen. Full details and reviews of this performance can be found here. Many thanks to those of you who travelled long distances to attend this event. Your support was much appreciated !!!!!

Limited Edition CD EP Released To coincide with Kinetik’s appearance at Bath Electronica, the band managed to record, mix and master a limited edition CD EP which was launched at the concert. A strictly limited edition of only 30 copies, the CD consists of a studio version of the track I.S.D.N. eventually destined for inclusion on the MODEM TIMES album scheduled for release late in 2000. Also included are two alternative mixes of the same track (one of them similar in style to the encore Kinetik played at the Bath concert) which are exclusive to this CD release and will not be available elsewhere. CD artwork has again been excellently produced by long-time member of the “Kinetik Family”, David England. At the time of writing, there are only two copies of this EP still available for sale. Please see the discography section on this site for full ordering details.

Future Kinetik Live Performances ? Directly as a consequence of Kinetik’s performance in Bath, the band have received two invitations to play at future music events to be held later this year Sometime around July – September this year, Kinetik will probably share the billing with the improvisational electronic duo CHAOS at a concert to be held in Manchester. Present at the Bath concert was the organiser of the EMMA#4 Electronic Music Festival held at Derby in 1997. He has invited Kinetik to participate in another Festival which he is currently trying to organise for around October, probably to be held at Bath University. This site will contain full details of any Kinetik participation at these events as soon as all of the details are confirmed.

MODEM TIMES Launch Date ?

Kinetik's long-awaited next studio album is now scheduled for release late in 2001, hopefully the album will be launched at a special Kinetik concert. This may be at the concert in Newcastle for November or at the possible Blackpool party gig. Studio sessions for the album will be re-started in February 2001.
