MODEM TIMES - Launch Date Now Announced

Kinetik are pleased to finally announce the launch of their long-awaited studio album MODEM TIMES. This will be our first album to pressed from a glass master, the master being prepared at the CD pressing plant on 12th December 2006. The official launch date for MODEM TIMES is now set for 15th January 2007.

Because of the continual delays we have faced in completing the album, Kinetik have decided to reward those of you patiently waiting by issuing a free bonus CD entitled MODEM TIMES SUPPLEMENT along with the first 50 copies of MODEM TIMES ordered directly from us.

TRANS-CONTINENTAL is a full studio version of this popular song, previously only available as a live version on the RE-GENERATIONS release. The two live tracks have been taken from Kinetik's most recent live performance at the 2003 Elektrofest Festival in London. The sound quality of the live recording is excellent.

Also given away with the first 50 copies will be a limited edition DVD entitled the MODEM TIMES VIDEO SUPPLEMENT.

This will feature some articles on the recording and mixing of the album, plus various interesting material from the Kinetik archives including promo films for 'Haven's Lament' (1997), 'Re-Generations' (1999) and 'Marconi' (2002). Some archive concert material will also be included featuring extracts from The Burning Issue (Wales 1995), Micro Tour (Wales 1998) and Windows 2000 (Bath 2000) concerts. We are currently editing some additional DVD features such as a Kinetik interview by music journalist Carl Jenkinson and a feature detailing how artist David England has prepared the album artwork. These were recorded on December 3rd.

Possible Kinetik Live Performance For 2007 ?

To co-incide with the launch of MODEM TIMES, Kinetik are also in very early negotiations concerning a live event likely to be held at Bath University at around February 2007. We stress that this is at the very early discussion stage and is by no means confirmed yet. If it goes ahead, it is likely that Kinetik would perform a substantial set and largely feature material from the new album.
